Wayang Beber is inseparable from the Indonesian people’s journey as they embrace Hindu, Buddhist, and Islamic cultures. This performing art show an embodiment of acculturation between Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Javanese. Kyai Remeng Mangunjaya a type found in article discusses how semiotics Roland Barthes can be used to reveal significance Mangunjaya. Through this study, author examines denotative connotative meanings Beber. The results that are defined based on puppet’s history sacred obtained. Contrastingly, expressed through visual narrative terms.
